The Market’s central island became the setting for an exclusive gastronomic workshop. El Sr. Martín and Pinkleton&Wine joined forces for a unique event in which the city’s leading foodie influencers became chefs for a day.
The challenge? To create the ultimate version of Madrid’s iconic calamari sandwich using El Sr. Martín’s signature product.
Innovation Between Bread and Crispy Seafood
Participants had the opportunity to experiment and design their own creations using exceptional ingredients:
- The perfect fry: Line-caught squid and crispy prawns.
- The foundation: A selection of breads, ranging from the traditional mollete to crystal bread and brioche.
- The finishing touch: A curated selection of signature sauces, from citrus aiolis to spicy mayonnaises.
Each foodie unleashed their creativity, producing spectacular combinations that quickly flooded social media.

To complete the experience, the Pinkleton & Wine team took charge of the liquid harmony, carefully selecting the perfect wine to enhance the flavors of the sea and elevate the calamari sandwich to gourmet status.
