Oyster shucking masterclass at Mercado de San Miguel

Yesterday, March 26th, Mercado de San Miguel hosted an incredible oyster shucking masterclass, an event organized in collaboration with Daniel Sorlut, one of the market’s renowned stalls and a benchmark in high-quality oyster sales.

During the session, we had the opportunity to learn about the origins of Daniel Sorlut, explore the different types of oysters they offer, and understand their unique characteristics, from farming methods to flavor profiles. We were also privileged to have Damian Margarit, winner of the 2023 Oyster Shucking Championship, who demonstrated his expert technique and taught us how to open oysters properly.

Among the attendees were well-known figures from the culinary world, who enjoyed an unforgettable experience in an exceptional setting.
