Arzábal

Arzábal opened its doors on May 6th, 2009 in a small storefront located at #2 Calle Doctor Castelo in the Retiro quarter.

Within one year, the team had grown from just 5 employees to 32. Currently, more than 160 people are employed at Arzábal Retiro, Menéndez Pelayo and the group’s other restaurants (Arzábal Museo Reina Sofía and the Japanese restaurant Kirikata).

Álvaro Castellanos and Iván Morales have adapted their concept to the context of the Mercado de San Miguel, basing their creation in the basics of their cuisine, most especially in the veneration of high quality ingredients. Tapas and dishes made for sharing are designed depending on available seasonal produce. Whether with your wine by the glass, beer or sangria, you’ll have what it takes to toast to Spanish cuisine.
